That seller is a real loser.Awhile back he bought a MINT 85-92 Firebird console pad from me on ebay. This pad was the nicest one I had ever found and all he did was complain about a few hairline cracks in the underside trim piece. They were so small you would need a microscope to see them.Stay away from this guy

Those mirrors look kinda gay. And why is it people are always trying to act like they have the rarest thirdgen around. Like it was the only one ever made or some stupid bs. I like how he said it has never been abused but then later states that itll break the tires loose in first and second gear.
Re: 87 GTA DD9 paddle-type rear-view mirrors
That's been my #1 pet peeve about the History/Restoration board since day 1. In fact the description read something along the lines of "How rare is your car?" when it was first created. At least that's been reworded a bit, but there's still a never ending stream of new people who either just assume, or a friend/relative/salesman/seller told them their car is the rarest of the rare and some kind of factory special. Sure if you break it down to every single option combination there are some unique cars. There are some features that are somewhat unusual, or you don't see them everyday, but for the most part none of these cars are secretly rare. If they're something unusual it's usually extremely obvious. Supreme Member

Ill will admit very nice looking GTA, and although not really rare per say. It has a lot of un common options for a GTA
Re: 87 GTA DD9 paddle-type rear-view mirrors
IMO, considering the carmine interior was a one-year only option for the GTA (not speaking of the Trans AM), the DD9 mirrors were limited (uncommon and hard to find) and it's a GTA without the usual power options (only possible in 1987) I'd say it has some "rare" and uniqueness associated with it.
We know rare does not exactly mean desirable. As to the desirability, that is subject to opinion.

I think it is a nice looking bird. While the seller dosen't have undercarrage or door bottom pictures posted overall the interior, exterior & engine bay seem to be in well above average shape. As Frankie points out it is a uncommon color combo & option car and that does make it different. As always a car is only worth as much as what someone is willing to pay for it. It will be intersting to see how the bidding runs.

Take for example my 1987 Trans-AM. It is a carb car (LG4) originally. Yet for some reason it has a TPI wiring harness in the engine bay. Why? Who the hell knows? I've got another car that has the leather Recaro seats in it. The color and style are correct for a 1985 car. (I believe they are correct anyway.) I asked the original owner about them when I bought the car and he told me that he pulled them from another car and that this car came with leather seats, but they weren't originally Recaro seats. Had I not been able to talk to the original owner, I might have believed this to be a car with the Recaro seat option. (There are no RPO codes listed in the car as the RPO sticker was removed which only serves to complicate matters further.) The point is that you could have desirable things in your car but unless you bought the car from the original owner who happens to have a great memory, or are lucky enough to have your RPO codes and or build sheets, you may end up believing your car to be rare when in fact the car was fixed or repaired with parts or options installed that were pulled from other cars along the way.
In other words your car may have an uncommon or unique set of options but the truth is that not all options are desirable to any given person and furthermore the only truly rare cars are some anniversary cars such as the 1989 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans-AM and the Firehawks. Few others would truly qualify.
Take this odd ball GTA into account. Thy guy clearly has a boner for the rarity of some of the options. Indeed it's rare but again not desirable as far as I am concerned. The paddle mirrors are ugly and it lacks and adjustable steering column. That last part truly sucks in my opinion. Why wouldn't you want to be able to adjust your steering wheel position?
