is 14 the number for hardtops etc? cause someone just said 24 verts were made in that color also? I can't believe they only produced 14 and 15 in those colors. Very cool.

thanks for the link. I tried to find the color break downs but couldn't. I guess Ill have to search around.

Re: few questions about rare colors 350 Formulas!

The figures are under the "RPO Option Code Figures" link:
http://www.gtasourcepage.com/RPOFiguresMain.html

The GTA was not offered in a Convertible form for those years.

Frankie's website shows a total of 14 Jamaica Yellow GTAs for the 1992 model year, but the Compnine database shows 15. It shows 2 of those 15 were T-Tops so the rest were hardtops.

Re: few questions about rare colors 350 Formulas!

Often there are several "Names" of a single color of paint. As mentioned before GM had a different name for a color than Chevrolet, even more interesting is Pontiac in some cases had a yet different name for the same color.

in 1991 if you go to the paint store and look at GM color chips they have a color called
"Maui Blue Metallic" But if you go into the Chevrolet literature (for 1991) they call it "Light Blue metallic", and again if you go into Pontiacs literature (for 1991) they call it "Silver Blue Metallic" The White book called it simply "Light Blue" No metallic named...

So you actually have 3 names for the exact same color 23U or WA9537 From GM... ITs all marketing... Pay no attention to the name, pay attention to the RPO, or the WA number that is what gets you the correct color.

So there were only 2 '92 JY GTA's that had t-tops? I have the doors from one, the rest of the car was supposed to get put back together, but who knows if that actually happened. It might be gone forever.

Re: few questions about rare colors 350 Formulas!

Correct, but more like confirmed, as I recall Frankie did mention exports were not included in the figures he has. And the Compnine database isn't 100% complete for 1992, so both sets of figures do have a margin of error. I probably should have mentioned that when I quoted both sources and why there was a difference so that it was known.

PM including the VIN for my '89 Formula 350 has been sent to the thread's originator (david068513). Still looking for my '89 brochure which states which colors were available (there were only four).
