Option package #4?

I have looked on google like crazy and I can't figure out what option package #4 is. My '89 IROC has it but it keeps bringing up 1le stuff, but I know it's not a 1le. Help is appreciated.

Re: Option package #4?

1989 falls into the blind spot in my library. What you'll want to do is try to locate a copy of the sales literature for a 1989 Camaro, and then read the part that talks about the options packages.

The info I have on file (which doesn't cover 1989) shows that typically the option levels start at 1SA, then 1SB includes everything in 1SA plus additional options, with 1SC building upon 1SB. 1SD didn't apply to the years/models my documentation applies to, but it stands to reason it builds upon 1SC. Now typically 1SA is a stripped down basic car. 1SB adds power windows, power locks, etc. Then 1SC adds things like power mirrors, power seat, etc. The correct documentation for a 89 Camaro should tell you exactly what was included.

The Camaro White Book breaks down the various option packages for the various 1989 Camaros, but it doesn't list them with the 1SX codes. Assuming we're dealing with an IrocZ coupe (not convertible, not RS) the book shows 4 option groups. FZAB, FZA1, FZA2, FZA3. FZAB is the base package, the other three build up. The codes may not match the RPO codes since the FZA codes are marketing and the SPID is for parts replacement, but it's a pretty safe guess they line up.

If that is the case, and 1SD = FZA3, the contents include:
A01: tinted glass
A31: power windows
A90: remote hatch release
AG9: power drivers seat
AU3: power locks
B34: front floor mats
B35: rear floor mats
B84: body side moldings
CD4: intermittent wipers
C60: A/C
D42: locking rear storage compartment lid
DC4: rear view mirror with ctsy lights
DG7: power mirrors
K34: cruise control
N33: tilt steering
TR9: aux lighting
TT4: halogen head lights
UA1: heavy duty battery
UX1: Cassette radio with EQ

That's my best informed guess without the correct paperwork.

Both this site and CamaroSource.ca have the Sales brocures from 89, which give the list of options for the "Preferred Equipment Group 3"

Re: Option package #4?

1SD is preferred equipment group 3. I notice that most window stickers in 1989 are the new style with the full color, however, I have one that matches the 87 style.
