Anyone ever see one of these? (Gauge Cluster)

First time I have seen one with idiot lights and no tach......it doesn't even have a trip odometer...

Re: Anyone ever see one of these? (Gauge Cluster)

I remember when I was looking for my first car, test drove an.. '84 camaro maybe? It was a carbed V6, had no tach and only dummy lights. I don't remember the gas gauge being HUGE like that, but I never bought the car and only looked at it once

What freaked me out was it had a manual tranny, I would never drive a manual without a tach personally

As I recall, full instrumentation with tach was not standard in the base Camaro until 1988 or so. From 1982-87, gauges were optional in the Sport Coupe.

Depending on year, the option was called either "Special Instrumentation" or "Gage Package," RPO U21.

Not many came that way... I've only seen 1 or 2 in person. The firebirds seemed to be more common with that configuration. My first firebird had the big gas gauge & no tach, and a sea of empty idiot light bays where the better models usually had 2 more gauges.

That cluster is a little different. I remember a huge gas guage that would tell how many gallons you had. Believe it was a double-sided needle, gallons and liters. They were very common in the 82-84 base model Camaro's.

Edit - heres the fuel gauge I remember seeing quite often:

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback. I've been around these cars since they were new and never remember seeing something like that. Just thought it was neat and wanted to share!

Yep, the original on my '85 was like that, but I swapped it for one with a tach.
That's probably why you don't see many like that. lol

According to my sources the double-needle cluster was used from '82-'84. The cluster Rumblin gave a link to is the '85-'87 cluster.

This is actually the same as what I have in my 86 V6.
