Just Picked Up An '84 15th Anniversary Trans Am....

1984 15th Anniversary Trans Am: L69 Engine, Automatic, 3.73 Posi.

I'm going to have a little fun with the car before I begin a full restoration. Everything is there inside the car (headlights, t-top bar, correct rims, etc), I just didn't have time today to start on it. Anyways, here's to another historic 3rd gen being saved from the crusher.... :clink:

I bought her from a very good friend for $500.00, who just didn't have the time to bring her back to where she needs to be. I originally just wanted the rear for another project, but I just didn't have the heart to seperate the two, so I wound up with the whole damn thing lol. Car needs lots of work, but hey, thats what its all about....

Good deal. It nice to see that there are still good cars at great prices in and around NYC.

I've been at it with the car for the last two days, and although its fighting me a little, the bruised and scraped knuckles are well worth it. Believe it or not the car even had the RPO code sticker still in tact....;

Hey Joe! The original engine and tranny were both pulled, and a 355 short block with 200R4 transmission was installed. Still working on the heads, but when all is said and done it will be running a blow-thru turbo setup. Was hoping to get my hands on a turbo header already fabricated, but it looks like I'll be making another one from scratch. All of the stock pieces that were removed have been put on the side for when it gets restored, but that won't be for awhile though....

Nice save. I recall seeing a 15th behind an abandoned repair shop for years. Then it disappeared. Not certain, but I think it resurfaced today at another shop down the street. Was an Auto.

Re: Just Picked Up An '84 15th Anniversary Trans Am....

Several years ago I got stopped in a small town on a business trip. While I was hanging around this service station (gas station with service bays) I noticed a pair of white doors with the blue 15th anniversary logos leaning against a wall. I inquired and apparently the owner had one 15th anniversary car, and had scrapped one or two other 15th anniversary cars. The doors looked perfect.
