Difference between Z28 and Z/28?

This might strike some people as an absolutely ignorant question, but I am truly curious.

I have a stack of Hot Rod, Car Craft, Camaro, Muscle Car, Engine Masters, and Chevy High Performance and SOMEWHERE in there was an article about a Camaro, just the usual, description and admiring it, but the author stated "Now what we have to ask ourselves, is if this is a Z28 or a Z/28."

Its been over a week since I read the article and couldn't for the life of me tell you which on it was, there are dozens scattered around. I meant to ask earlier but my job doesn't exactly give me a whole lot of time.

I'm just curious if there is a difference? or maybe it was just an inside joke or something along those lines? I really don't know. Sorry if the question makes anyone slap there foreheads or roll their eyes.

P.S. I also didn't know where to post the thread so I apologize in advance if it isn't in the correct spot.

Re: Difference between Z28 and Z/28?

z/28 is the way the emblems were on the early camaros. then it changed to z28. I think they were making a comment as if 'is this a real muscle car'. The z/28's would probably be considered by them a real muscle car, while z28 are posers.
I could be wrong though.

It's just a change in the emblem design that was made in the late 70's or early 80's.
