OK, I am new to the site. I have read every post on Vin decoding and tried all the sites that I saw posted. I purchased a 1987 Firebird that has the LG4 engine and a 5 speed manual trans. The car does not have the RPO sheet anywhere. The previous owner swapped in a 98 center console so the sheet, I take it, disappeared with it. I looked in all the suggested places as well.

Can anyone give me a list of the RPO codes for this car? The VIN is 1G2FS21H2HL224096. I hope someone can help!

 

You're SOL... Records by VIN number don't go that far back for US domestic cars. You could tear the car apart looking for a build sheet, or try to obtain a copy of the original invoice, but neither will really give you a complete list of RPO's.

 

Thanks Drew, not the news I wanted to hear but thats what I figured too! Its a great starting point for a resto mod now. The car came with no a.c., no pwr windows, no pwr door locks and no t-tops. It was probably ordered for one thing, and we all know that answer. I just might build it up to race.

 

I want to say 1987 is the cut off year for PHS. They might be able to get you a copy of the original invoice that will show the major options. It's just a bit expensive for a piece of paper.
