Found a 1LE!

Found this while scrolling through craigslist. I would buy it but dont have the cash so I thought some of my fellow brethren would be interested in such a car for a great price!

Re: Found a 1LE!

dude that looks just like my moms. she tried telling everyone it was a 1le and when i checked it was just a 350 z28.... alot of people are trying to up sell hoping that some kid who doesn't know much will buy it. btw my moms was going for 5500 with 195,000 on the clock and it wouldn't run for more then 5 mins.... she still has it. hahahaha. i see this scenario almost weekly in ct...

Re: Found a 1LE!

I've often wondered - Does everyone that owns a 1LE know what they have? Is it possible that anyone trying to sell their Z28, Formula, etc DOESN'T know that its a 1LE?

I can't imagine, but I'm going to look at a 91 Formula 350 this weekend - fingers crossed!

that car is dirt cheap for a low mile 1le, its defiantly shady. I would stay away.

Agreed. Also, judging from the brake dust on the wheels, either they NEVER washed it or its got a bazzillion miles on it.

Good point it could have 240,000 miles accompanied by a salvage title and might still have some from issues but if that isnt so and it is a 1LE then it isnt too bad. Even if it was a regular Z28 it is a pretty good price for the shape that is if it hasnt been in an accident.

Re: Found a 1LE!

90-up thirdgens have million mile odometers. The condition of the car is far out of line from the supposed mileage. This is another of those circumstances where even if the mileage is accurate, the car is hammered, so what difference does it make that it's low mileage?

Chances are it's just another 91 Z28. From the pics the price is way off.

Re: Found a 1LE!

Drives me nuts when Camaro sellers say, "350 Corvette engine".

Be nice to luck out on one when they don't. Wonder if I'd feel a little guilty getting a 1LE from an owner who has no idea.
Probably would depend on what kind'a deal I'd get!
I'm sure there's lots of owners who have no idea what they have. Seen TONS of LB9's being advertised as L98's. Rarly though the other way around. Seen a few TBI Irocs that were RS's. One guy, I think on this board, bought what he thought was an RS and found out it was an Z28 as he learned about Camaros from us.

I had misinformation - especially when trying to sell a car. I really hate it when people try to pass off their 305s and 350s (or even the "ultra desirable" Corvette L98..ehehehheh - Like its sooooo much more powerful) and the their SC, RS, etc as a Z28. I see it all the time.

As for this particular car, I'd be really, really surprised if it was a true 1LE. Chances are its not, and someone told the current seller that it was and he/she hasn't actually found it out.

Re: Found a 1LE!

The seller probably read somewhere that a 91 Z28 without fog lights is a 1LE, or otherwise misread some article. It's amazing how many misinformed people spread incorrect information.
