I was looking at third gens on youtube today and came across this almost original 1982 Z28 with 23,000 original miles on it. Still has the eagle GT tires even! I would kill to have this car: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcR_3KZNPvs

That's the EXACT color scheme and interior my '83 had. I like the part where he says it has the original air intake system - NOT. Neither is the brake master cylinder cover or those two orange things under the hood. But it's a really nice car!!

It's a nice car but it looks like the kid that inherited it started to screw with it. The chessy carbon fiber door edge guards, air cleaner, and it looks like some goofy horns. I am surpised the stereo has not been changed.

There are a ton of incorrect parts on the car... It'd take a few hours to make it "right". The door moldings are probably the #1 concern to me... They're not right, and the right ones for the car aren't easy to obtain. Worse yet, depending on how they were installed they might not come off without damage. The low mileage is nice, but it's a wonder why they messed with it. It's not like that air cleaner makes much of any performance improvement.

Here's the link to the web listing... $25,000 is probably twice what it's worth. A "sell it right now" price would be somewhere under $10,000. If they wanted to wait for the right buyer it might be worth half the asking price, but it's not going to sell for that quickly, and probably not at all in this economy.

Almost forgot, looks like it's been rust proofed. I don't really like the idea of a company drilling holes, spraying in a chemical and then plugging the holes with plastic caps. Deal breaker from my perspective.

When you consider that I did pay half that for my TPI 350 t-top IROC, and that 82-84s don't have the value of later TPI cars, I concur that the real selling price of this car is a little under 10k. Not much under, but under.

He did say the original air cleaner is in the trunk...
