How many of the slp t ram intakes were made? I know they use to sell them over the counter. I was wondering the amount made.

I'll make a total guess. 250-500
I'll send a Email to some peeps and see what they say.

Thanks for the help
Was it Jegs that sold them back in the day? Along with 92 Firehawk crate engines lol.
I'd say the number is closer to 250-300. Atleast 250 though.
If you get a lead on a complete one, be sure it has the thermostat housing and linkage bracket. Also if it has the original finish that's a major plus too. If it's $1,500 or less, it better already be in your garage!

I've got two of them....
As far as the total number, I was told anywhere between 200-250. They made them for the original 1991-1992 Firehawks and well, when there were only 25 of them ordered out of an expected 250, they sold the rest.
I'm currently running it without the linkage bracket in an autmatic car. It is possible to make the tranny work without the bracket but I'm getting one made anyway.

Soooo.....since we know there were AT LEAST 250 made since they were expecting to build 250, why would you estimate less than 250?
I wish I could find one cheap but I don't even have a bird to put it on. Just very curious of it and like the history so trying to see what I can find out.

Didn't say it was MY estimate. Just something I've read about and been told. It's possible that they did a low production rate run and when they figured no more than 25 Firehawks were going to be built, they stopped production at less than 250 but who knows? It's also entirely possible they made 250 in one shot.Originally Posted by 92GTA

I'm fortunate enough to have two and I use mine and I enjoy it. From someone with experience on it, I would say it's the best all around TPI system. Works wonders with my mid and high range while keeping my low end torque and is a hell of a lot easier to install than the Super Ram.

Thanks for your info, sounds like a great intake they are just so expensive to buy now.Originally Posted by JekyllandHyde

Thank you. We finally have a definitive answer. Makes me feel less bad about using the one I have on my GTA now.
