Does anyone know what these speakers look like, and what radio they go with?
Have a picture of one? Or a part #?
All I know is they add 13 lbs of weight to the car over the regular speakers.
They were available in 1992 and probably other years as well

They're pretty hard to miss, they're in the kick panels (they stick out further and are carpet covered), and in the locking storage cover in the trunk. In the trunk the speaker grills say Bose right on them, and the radio says Delco Bose on the face plate. There really isn't much good about them... By now most of them have been swapped out in favor of aftermarket components anyway. They were great when they were new, but the technology is really dated now. Assuming they're still in decent shape, the sound quality isn't going to be as good as a Pioneer "stereo system in a box" like they sell at Walmart.

Drew,
I would kind of agree or disagree... My 1990 Riv had the BOSE and it sounded "ok" when in FM or Cassette modes... However with the CD player it was Incredible... WIth that said AFAIK Camaro was NA with the BOSE and the CD, so my point is moot.
A BOSE system is really only any good with a CD player IMHO... I have owned a few of them and when in good working order and the speakers are not whining, the effort to swap one out with an Aftermarket one has never been worth the effort.
How it works is this,
A normal Radio has an amplifier built in the head unit, and the head unit powers the speakers.
A Bose (& I think Monsoon) Radio has the amplifiers attached to the speakers,
Different years & Different models have different Ohm Impedance so mixing and matching from one car to another can be tricky. I have had 2Ohm and 1 Ohm BOSE speakers.
John
Andre, You have one of the 3 or 2 TTA Verts... Kewl...

Thankfully GM learned from all the replacement problems of building separate amps into each speaker...the Monsoon system in my '02 has just a single amp near the spare tire that feeds all the speakers.

Andre#4 - I am also over on the TTA site- we talked last night about something but I came across this, thought I would help. I do know the part number. This part ran $905.00 as an add-on piece from GM.Originally Posted by Andre#4

Old thread form the dead - I know a place that still has Beechwood and Grey for the Rear - NOS. They do not have the front speakers. The item is Number 21.
