Original Paperwork/Miscellaneous tags found in cars
When I ripped out my entire interior during restoration, I was unsuccessful at finding a build sheet. However, upon removing my overhead console, I found a little tag dated 'August 11, 1987' (my car is an 87 from Norwood). There were two sets of numbers on it as well. In case you haven't seen one, I'm going to show mine here.

Re: Overhead Console (build tag?)
The numbers are GM part numbers for the overhead console.
LAMP, W/S Hd Ctsy Rdg & Cnsl (FP W/DK6, CC1) 20483023
The other number is much the same.

Here's another one I just found;
After removing my 1987 door panel for refurbishing, I found this sticker underneath the black plastic portion on the top of door panel assembly

Re: Original Paperwork/Miscellaneous tags found in cars
I would think that the sticker or tag may have been more obvious and easier to read than the stamping or casting that they put in many parts. Especially considering that there was two versions, one for T-top and one for hard tops.
