a reasonable price for a t/a

OK, I would like to have a good price range for a 3rd gen (esp. 90-92) formula T/A or GTA. Manual tranny with a 305 or a 350 swap, little to no rust, body in reasonable condition, not worried about paint, and not worried about interior. If it's a t-top, I'd like no leaks, and not a convertible.

That is about the vaguest description possible. It could be $2,500 for a tired 200k mile car that needs cosmetics, or a 25k mile car like my own 88 that's a lot more.

Over $1,000, and less than $13,000, based on that description....

Re: a reasonable price for a t/a

sorry, i had to cut my description short, i had to leave but now the rest,
I'm not too worried about the age of the engine, if necessary i can replace it with my brothers spare 350, but on the rest of the car i'd like less than probably 100,000 miles, little to no mods, no previous serious accidents basically all basic systems functional. more on paint, i dont mind faded or primed/multicolor panels as i'm going to repaint it, but like i said little body damage. I can do work on things like heat or a/c, and windows but i'd like it to run strong, and be completely drivable, interior wise i am completely open, all i need is a seat and seat belt, maybe cruise control, no mold but i dont care about drooping headliner or cracked dash or no passenger seat, or anything like that, basically what i want is a solid, drivable reliable and fun car, and sorry if im still too vague, im kinda of a beginner, any guidance would be greatly appreciated (btw Jason, nice collection)

My GTA had no rust or dents, but had very badly faded paint. Seats were faded and torn. Smokes on start up (valve seals) and had bad torque converter (vibration). Milaege unknown, but non-op odometer reads 164k miles. Had brand new tires. I bought it for $1600. Maybe that'll give you an idea.

Cars with good clean original interior seem to bring more $$. Ripped seats almost always bring it under the $2k mark from what I've seen.

$3500+, even more for a 91-92.

Don't make the mistake my friend did and get desperate and buy the first GTA you see. He bought his 89 for $2000, while it was probably worth $1200 at best. He will spend alot of money to get it to even be a good looking GTA and not just another beater 3rd gen you see every now and then.

1) Thanks for the kind words about the third gen collection Its taken a lot of late nights on the internet, a big chunk of $$$, and a lot of patience over the years...but I have 3 cars I'm really proud to own.

2) When you can get a really nice car for $5,000, why would you even consider a car with ripped seats, cracked dash etc. in the $3,000 range? I'm speaking hypothetically, of course. Cosmetics may not matter so much to you, but wouldn't it be nice to not ride around in a total rat?

3) When the newest of these cars is now 20 years old, look it over good. Its easy to miss stuff.
