It finally stopped raining here so I pulled it out of the garage and took some pictures with the hood open like you guys wanted. Kinda sounds like it should be nominated for COTM to me. The cloud reflection on the hood kinda looks like a firebird.

Wow. Awesome build. It really came out nice, also enjoyed reading through the whole story on how you got it.

I thought I wasn't going to like the spoiler, but it blends well with the black. That and the hood are the personal touches that make it unique.

Took home "Favorite three" in '80 class. When I went to get the award one of the judges said to me "Just wanted to let you know that every one of the judges put you for first place". Great Father's Day for me.

 

I would be honored to have that bird in my driveway and work on it. Glad to see you are getting some recognition for the hard work as well, with getting the pick in that car show. It's such a good feeling when the general majority thinks of third gens as junkers, but then one like yours or mine goes to a show and takes home a trophy. Really shows people just how gorgeous these cars can be with some TLC.

Couldn't agree with you more. I had so many people come up to me saying that they had a car similar and they wished it looked like mine. My bird even beat a delorean and two really nice vettes

 

That hood looks amazing when its open and its even more accented by the hatch being open. Fantastic job. Congrats!

Thanks... I enjoy finally driving her. She is away for the winter but I visit her every week. I ended up taking home a first place, two top 10s, and an top 25 at some carshows over the past summer. Can't wait until next spring.

 

some pretty intense goals. i imagine you mustve liked working on the car so you may never stop so whatre the plans for it? and im loving the hood and scoops they look killer. best retrofit ive seen so far.

Well, from the beginning I must admit that I had very little faith that there was going to be a follow through. I haven't checked in and didn't realize that you completed this a year ago.

I tip my hat to you sir topspeed, on a very well planned and executed project. And what a personal story to go with it - how this car caused you so much grief and your wife and you turned it around into such a happy ending.
