question about engine and RPO code

i just recently picked up an 87 camaro with 5 speed and t-tops. It cames with alot of interesting options like a/c delete, radio delete, and the dash pad is mint.

ok enough rambling..My question is that the car has a carb on it and i know that was an option in 87 but the wiring harness under the hood looks like it was an efi harness (even a few sensor still bolted to the firewall that are unhooked). The PO cut the harness all the hell but I was wondering if it is originally a carb car and he swapped to en efi harness or if it was an efi car that he converted to carb.

I looked up the RPO codes in the car and it says LG4: ENGINE, GAS, 8 CYL, 5.0L, 4BBL

Pics work and keep talking. Lots of guys would unplug the electronic carb and replace with a regular rochester etc.

Re: question about engine and RPO code

Oh ok I didn't even think about it being an electronic carb. I'm still deciphering all of the other rpo codes but will post up a new thread when I get the rest of the list together and get some pics. The car seems to be too good to be true. The carb needs a rebuild because the accelerator pump is shot but it is s top car with 5 speed, rebuilt engine, long tube headers with full exhaust, flowmaster muffler, mint interior (just a little smelly from sitting) edelbrock intake, Holley carb, new clutch, decent factory original paint, dent free body. I picked it up the other night off craigslist. The guy was asking 750 and I was MORE than happy to pay his asking price.
