my 86 has a color of paint on it that i have never seen on a camaro. its paint code comes up as #8754 russet{ copper}metallic .mines a van nuys built car .i cant seem to find any info on it.i have a sales brochure for it that lists the color but says it was not avalible on a IROC ,which mine is.i have been told no calif born cars were this color,but heres one.what gives????

 

If your having doubts whether its an iroc check the door tag. Look for what size wheel your car calls for. In 85-87 the ONLY size wheels that irocs got were 16" wheels.

 

i have no doubts its a real IROC ,i chased down its original owner. whats strange is from what i can find out copper metallic was not a color you could get on a van nuys built car,as mine is.im not sure about norwood tho. just for giggles my VIN is 1G1FP87F8GL181932 i removed the interior completely and even in the most remote places its that funky copper color,so im inclined to believe its its factory color

I seem to recall seeing IROCs that were that color when new. Wasn't very popular for whatever reason.

Didn't pay much attention to sales brochures (still don't)... I mostly look at the cars. Can't comment on the literature.

 

Dead sure it's not a loaded Z28?? Looks and most parts will be the same except primarily the wheels. Even a orig owner could be mistaken

 

Sounds like an option loaded Z28 and not an IROC. That color did not come on IROC's. Post a pic of the color and car and a pic of the drivers door tag.
