Another Beauty I Can't Afford!
Here's a really fine looking Yellow 1986 IROC-Z for sale. It's out of my price range, makes me hate being a poor boy. The ebay page has some good high res pix of what appears to be an all original car. For those who love (like me) these yellow IROC's, take a look here:

I think the asking price is way too high, but even at what I would consider a reasonable wholesale price, maybe $12-$13k, it' out of my league.

Wonder which owner painted the wheel inserts yellow. It's a nice touch, but not too easy to maintain and keep clean after every drive.
Very nice car in a very nice collection.

That's the stock gold package, which includes the gold wheels, gold IROC-Z door decals and black/gold body stripe. It's not super-common on yellow cars, but not super rare either.

The yellow color in the photos looks way to saturated on my monitor. I copied a photo and did a little adjustment on it. Does this look a bit closer to the factory color to you?

I like that car! Not really a camaro fan but there are certain ones that trip my trigger.. I love the black gut but if it had charcoal wheels and decals (not a gold or tan fan) I'd prolly seriously think about owning it!
Yes, thats factory paint. Some of you youngens dont remember them new but yup, that the way org paint looks. It also helps hide imperfections..
The next 3rdgen I paint will have the same orange peel in the paint. My painter has done some test panels 4 me and he duplicated it perfectly!!

Oh yeah, GM put out a lot of "sloppy" workmanship. It was partly due to the paint at the time also, it didnt flow out like it does these days.
It can be replicated fairly easy but its very hard to do it correctly on the complete car...

Re: Another Beauty I Can't Afford!
Both my TAs have been repainted, despite low mileage, and I'm glad both of them were. I have mostly original paint on my IROC, and I can assure you that my freshly painted TA has a WAY better shine and paint quality to it.
I remember my 89 RS on the showroom floor. It even had a hair stuck in the hood. GM quality

Re: Another Beauty I Can't Afford!
Not strange at all. My former car was a dark red/red carmine interior iroc with the gold package. Ive seen others set up similar as well.
