Re: battery question

Group 75. Any CCA will work, but buy the best one you can afford. If they aren't lasting long, check to make sure you are charging. If yes, also check if soemthing on the car is drawing power while it's parked.

Re: battery question

I'm not sure if your car calls for a 108 amp generator or not,but make sure you have the right one.If you have one that's to small, your drawing more power out of your battery that needs to.And check to see what eseibel67 is suggesting.

Re: battery question

I always try to get the one with the highest cracking amp usually a 750. I would definately check for a drain on the battery when parked with a voltmeter

Can you go into a little detail about this? If the alternator is too small, I assume the result will ultimately be a dead battery? Is there a such thing as "too big"? I have RPO K60, which I believe is a 100 amp alternator. If I go larger, will I fry anything?

Re: battery question

You can go to 108 amp,but a 100 should do a sufficient job.the question is,is your alternator one of the two,I've seen people buy some out of junk yards and just old plain used ones. But this may not be your problem, you said you battery doesn't hold a charge so that's a bad battery or their is something drawing power down when your car is off.You have to check each one, take your alternator and battery to a Advance Auto store or similar ,they will check it for FREE,then you go from their.
