Price range for my Trans Am
Price range for my Trans Am
I recently acquired a 1984 Trans-Am from a relative. I was trying to get some feedback on a value for it. It is a 305 engine, has 33,000 original miles, T-Top and in excellent physical, mechanical and cosmetic condition. Also has the Daytona Pace Car trim package. Has all original paperwork including original dealers sticker (was $10,700 new in 1984). Has had about $1500 in paint, detailing, some parts and new decals. Attached are some photos. Thanks for your input!

I'm no expert, but I'll open the guestimating at $7k.
It's a really nice car. Too bad someone messed it up with that filthy undercoating.

Looks like a good one
Locally,about 5yrs ago,there was
a 70,000 mile black/gold '84 TA i nice original condition
offered for sale in the paper for $7500,i was interested
and called but it had sold already...same day the ad
came out-didn't ask the seller what he got for the car,
but must have been close to asking price as fast as it
sold...

Re: Price range for my Trans Am
I am looking to sell this car. To the comment about a "filthy undercoating", not sure what you mean? The paint work done on it was some small touch up work, I don't think any major painting was done on it. It has been fully tuned up, new battery, new intake gaskets, replaced master cylinder, brake system flush and all paperwork/receipts from work done on it.

I think he is referring to the yellow brown undercoating under the hood. It was probably dealer applied. They used to go by names like Rusty Jones undercoating. You might even have a sticker on the car somewhere. It comes off with a little elbow grease. and some chemicals cleaners. I think TGO member Scott Moyer got it off with Gunk engine cleaner.
