Looking to purchase a 1-owner 1990 IROC need input
Looking at a high mileage 151k, one owner prestine condition Iroc.
The vitals;
White on Red
L98, A4, Hardtop
Stripe delete
All original down to the cassette deck.
Never wrecked
Paint is near perfect
Full documentation down to build sheet
One dent on DR side left fender where the owner hit a coffee table backing out of the garage.
Runs and drives perfectly and has an immaculate maintenance and upkeep record.
Wants $4,200.00.
I am somewhat unsure of the asking price but am about ready to make a purchase. This is an older couple ready to part ways with the car, but also wanting every dollar and holding to it.
Help me decide if this is the one to buy and keep. I need some opinions really bad....
Thanks in advance.
Scott

That sounds ok in the price range. Do you have any pics of the car? Exterior, interior, engine compartment and, underneath. It would be easier for us to give you a price range if we could see the car.
As you probably know the '90 model year was a short one since GM lost the IROC sponsorship. There were not a lot of '90 IROC's made so if its in good shape I would consider picking it up. Mechanically that car is going to be the same as a '91-'92 Z28 with the L98. It should have most of the factory go-fast options if its still all stock. Things like the N10 dual converter exhaust, 10 bolt rear with 3.23 gears and positraction. It should also have the '89-up 11'' 1LE aluminum style rear disk brakes as well. The front brakes should be the standard 10.5'' iron caliper single piston non-1LE style.
Keep in mind that there may be some minor things wrong with the car. The newest thirdgen was made in '92. So all thirdgens now are at least 20 years old.

I'd buy a one owner high mileage car like that in a heartbeat. Especially if it is a older owner. $4200 for a all stock, never modded or molested car is a steal. Buying one of these cars like that is very rare. Who cars about the miles. I've seen and driven cars with those motors with well over 200k and still run great. I'd leave the tendons hanging off thier arms as I snatched the keys.

1990 IROC coupe V-8 = 4213 built. Retail = $14,555.00.
A fully documented 1 owner car with complete maintenance records is very, very desirable. The older owner indicates it probibly wasn't beat on.
Sounds like a keeper to me.
Offer $4K, if they bulk, give the asking price in Cash and don't look back.
