I've been doing a lot of comparision looking and I see that all the 91's and most all the 92's I've seen for sale have silver valve covers and smooth intake runners. Mine has black valve covers and rough intake runners. I was told that in late 92 they used left over Vette parts for Camaro motors. Is that true? Any insight to this. I dont want to look like a shmuck when someone comes and looks at the car and I give them a story.

Re: Black valve covers & rough cast runners
Black valve covers were used on some of the 92's. Corvette's used cast aluminum covers, the black ones are most like truck valve covers.

Some late cars also did not have the "tuned port injection" script on the plate at the top of the TB. The tool that makes them most likely broke, and it was easier to make a blank.
