Door VIN sticker faded
My VIN sticker on my driver's door has overspray and is faded beyond legibility. Myself and another guy produce reproduction video game materials including stickers for cartridges. So I believe I can reproduce this sticker along with my RPO sticker (which I already have from a donor car). Can anyone provide me with as close to the following VIN tag in a high resolution image--you can white out your VIN. My car was a red on red 1990 RS hard top built 11/89.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Door VIN sticker faded
From what I can tell here is how the original VIN stickers were made... The little white 3/4"x4" or so stickers are kind of unique, making them look right is not too hard, however making them exactly like the originals will take some creativity.
From what I can tell, The print was printed in reverse on the back side of the sticker, it was then painted over in white and then an adhesive applied. The 5 SIN (Sticker Identification Number) I am not sure if that was applied before or after the sticker was painted white. What this does is if you peal off the sticker it peals the paint from the sticker and leaves it on the car.
On a side note he SIN was a sequence number that was a mixture of letters and numbers, the I and O I believe were not used, as not to confuse with a 1 and 0.
Hope that helps.

Re: Door VIN sticker faded
Is there any other way at all to determine a build date other than that door tag?
Mine is and always has been 100% faded, gone, zero trace of lettering/imprinting to get the build date from, and Compnine doesn't tell me either.
It's the one thing I still don't know about my car.
