1st off, I hope you don't mind that I fixed your post a bit so I could read it.
2nd, from one formula guy to another, nice car and welcome to the site.
As far as rare, punch your VIN into this site and it should get you close. http://www.compnine.com/vid.php.
Where in IL are you from? How bad is the rust?

Re: 1992 Firebird Formula 5 speed how Rare is it

92 Formula TPI 5 speed is rare because that was the performance configuration. Most everyone knew a better performance model was on the horizon with the LT1 so the demand for 92's was low.

In your case, the rarity is trumped by the rust problem. Really nice examples can still be had for a very reasonable price so a full out restoration would be quite impractical.

But i have never seen a tpi upper intake setup like that before ive only seen the holley high flow upper intake thats about it lol where instead of 4 runners on each side 2. The Ls1 and Ls2 swaps are becoming very popular and more economical. So you can go fast and still drive it to work everyday.Which is a

As far as rare, punch your VIN into this site and it should get you close. http://www.compnine.com/vid.php.
I tried that for my car and got this

Nothing found for VIN Number 1G2FW21F9HN2303XX (Left out last 2 digits, was told not to post VINs). It may be that we don't have it in the database yet, but be sure to check that you have typed it correctly.

My car is a 1987 GTA Convertible. Has anyone else tried getting anything for 1987s yet?

Ok I feel much better now. I was beginning to think some weird stuff was going on with my VIN. What are my other options in finding out about my SPID? Its no where to be found on my car. My apologies for the thread hijack.
