Graphic Packages #'s and what are they?

I've been trying to find what exactly the B60, B6Q, B6R, and B6T RPO codes are. We all know that they are the graphic package numbers. But nobody seems to know what that really means. My own research as lead to believe that it is the color of the emblems based off the color of the car. Although I have not been able to find what code goes to what emblem/car color, or if this actually is what the RPO codes indicate. My Iroc-Z seems as though it may be an oddball, B6T with DX3. I talked to my body guy today to get it car straightened and painted. But I would like to figure out if the Bxx are just the emblems and not related to the strips and decals before I start any paint work. So post up your graphic package numbers, emblem colors, car color, and if it has strips and decals what color are those, along with some pics of the car. Feel free to share any info you may have the subject.

Graphic package #4 / B6T
Red Emblems
Silver/Black Strips
Silver door decals

As we mentioned in an earlier post, your car should not have the ground effects stripes or the IROC-Z door decals. That is what the DX3, stripe delete, option was. For anybody that doesn't know, these graphics codes were only used on 1988 cars. I have a few build sheets for 1988 cars that have these different codes and I have not been able to determine their origin or their specific meaning.

Re: Graphic Packages #'s and what are they?

I have found articles that claim the graphic package RPO's did not start until 89. http://www.nastyz28.com/camaro/camaro88.html But others that claim 86-88 and only 88 like you said http://www.theimportkiller.com/Holla...ion_Manual.pdf

Im thinking that's where the contradicting RPO's are coming from. Maybe a late '88 DX3 but a graphic package RPO from '89. I don't know. Just trying to see what other graphic package combinations people have. Perhaps find another like mine and figure out what they really mean, not just #1, #2 , blah blah blah.

Re: Graphic Packages #'s and what are they?

I have a build sheet/SPID label from a car with a VIN in the 22xxx range. That sounds early to me. I'm not sure where you saw the details on nastyz28.com because I didn't see that one. The other link you provided is a listing provided by GM on the codes used and the years they were used. I actually have this list in print form that was given to me by GM. The problem is that not all codes are listed on this either. We have seen codes on 1985 cars that we have not been able to decode. This listing is supposed to be all inclusive, but it isn't. The one problem is that the definition doesn't explain what it is. Graphics package #3???? What is it??? I like the fact that you are asking for other 1988 owners to post what color their emblems are and what code is listed on their SPID. Just for clarification, the B6x codes are external ornamentation, so they have nothing to do with interiors.
