Red iroc emblem

So I can't fine a definitive answer and hate to rely on eBay sellers for accurate knowledge about iroc emblems. On my 89 iroc my emblems are a dark red/orange they have faded over the years. So what I want to know is there a difference in the dark red emblems over the years. I can find many emblems on eBay for sale.
some say they cover 85-90, some claim to be for 89 and up. Is there a difference over the years?

Re: Red iroc emblem

If you are referring to the external emblems, the red emblems should all be the same for 1988-1990. The IROC-Z went away in 1991 and all IROC-Zs wore Z28 badges from 1985-1987. If you have any examples of what you're referring to from eBay, let us know and we can provide accurate answers based on the listings.

Ah that helps some. Does this also apply to the rear bumper iroc with bowtie emblem? it was only an 88-90 thing? Reason I ask is I have noticed color differences in some of the listings.

Examples.

This

Compared to this

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1982-1992-IROC-Z28-NOS-Rear-Bumper-Emblem-NIP-/321114125358?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ac3e4b42e&vxp=mtr
Top example looks to be a gradual color fade

Bottom example looks more like emblems on my car now top is very dark, middle is almost as dark as top, and Bottom just looks orange. Like the fade is gone or colors have turned. I thought I read that there was a problem with the colors turning on some emblems. Or maybe i am just to peculiar about some things. And being that I am having to buy emblems from many different sources it's becoming difficult to tell if they will all match in the end.

Re: Red iroc emblem

As a side-note:
There could have been variations in the color of the emblems even from the emblem suppliers to GM during the production years.

I've seen it happen with NOS 1stgen emblems.
