carfax and emblems on dash say Iroc-z
I have an 86 Camaro. I purchased the car about 11 yrs ago and everything I found back then, including dealers, and carfax says that its an Iroc. however, my RPO does not say B4Z. What is it???? if this is a Z28 it will be on e-bay next week! I'm well aware that GM did not have their documents straight back in the day and I was wondering, does anyone here have an 86 Iroc without the B4Z RPO.
I've owned this car for many years and it means a lot to me. I've done a lot of suspension upgrades, tranny, engine, etc...

In general, Carfax is not a good source to go by as far as what model your car is. The only thing they go by is the VIN, which would decode to either a Z28 or an IROC for '86.
Hate to say it, but if you don't have B4Z on your RPO sticker, it's probably a Z28.

ha-ha. great point! This subject would never have been brought up until i started looking at installing a wonder bar. Thats when i was told the IROC-Z will have the wonder bar. mine does not have a wonder bar.
i doubt that i'll sale my babe, but i have believed for more than a decade that she was an IROC. Disappointing

Not all Irocs will have the B4Z code. My 90 Vert doesn't. If it has "Z28" in the later years then its a Iroc, cause they didnt make Z28s during those years.
Same as yours, Carfax and Title have IROC on it.

Like was said what does it matter if it's not a real IROC at this point? From what you say I am going to go with it's just a Z28, but you have had her 11 years so don't stop loving her now.
