Just got a Trans Am GTA in Sweden, how can i find RPO list?
Hello! I just bought a 1988 Trans Am GTA about two weeks ago. I am located in Sweden and the car came here (was imported) in 1992.
I've been wanting a third gen F-body for about 10 years, I'm already so in love with it and I want to find out more about my car, but It's kind of hard here in Sweden since this is an american car, there are no Pontiac Service dealers here, and the GM dealers over here can't help since they only sell european brands and daewoo branded "chevys".
I've looked for the build sheet under the center console lid and in the lockable compartment + spare wheel compartment in the rear but i can't find it, I guess someone removed it in some point of time. I've tried the compnine site but it can't find my car. The decodethis site finds it but no options list.
What I do know is that It's a GTA with L98, auto, 9-bolt rear end with posi (that doesn't work, yet...), disc brakes, aluminium drive shaft, and at least the badge "Performance Suspension".
If anyone could find out anything about the car or post an RPO list, I would be very happy.
My VIN is 1G2FW2180JL221627
Have a nice weekend everybody

You can contact PHS http://phs-online.com/order.htm they can supply you with the RPO codes on what OPTIONS your car came from the factory with, then you can just match up the rest of the standard equipment RPO codes.

You will not be able to get a complete listing of the RPO codes from the SPID that is missing on the inside wall of the center console lid. The build sheet may or may not be in the car and if it's in the car it can be located just about anywhere. Compnine only shows newer ThirdGens and exported ThirdGens so your VIN not being found is normal since it's a 1988 GTA. Decode this site is not a good resource for our cars as they cannot pull the RPO codes for the VIN. They only provide generic information based on the make/model/year/trim.
Going through PHS will provide you a copy of the invoice that contains some major RPO codes but not all of them.
However, unless something recently changed, PHS has no longer been able to do 1987 and newer Pontiacs as that was handled through GM Media Archive:http://www.gmmediaarchive.com/

. I filled out the form yesterday on GM Media Archive but I don't think it worked? After i clicked submit it just went to a blank page, no confirmation, payment info or anything :/.I attached a couple of pics i took today if anyone is interested

I'm gonna look for a build sheet this week, I've read common places are behind back seat or under passengers seat so I'll start looking there.

I found my build sheet under the carpet of the passenger, above the Catalytic convertor.
Your best bet would be thru the GM archive, it will not give you all of the RPO's, some are worthless like the RPO for the computer selected springs, which is meaningless unless you have a Parts book, in which it may or may not be useful as it only gives you a part number that ends up being superseded back to a universal part number...
the dealer invoice would be useful really for just the options, it tells you what was ordered with the car...
Good luck and have fun...
