1993 Camaro Indy Pace car (OFFICIAL)

Does anyone happen to know EXACTLY which Rear Drive ratio the actual Indy Pace car was equipped with?

I know it was equipped with the 5.7L V8 350, MD8 4-speed Auto transmission but was it the 2.73 or 3.23?

Thanks

90% of the pace cars I've seen are 3.23.

There were 3 pace cars.. Are you saying you seen 2 of the 3? I'm referring to the OFFICIAL pace car; not the replicas :-)

Are you looking for 1993 or 1982? You posted 1993 in the title.

Hmm.. According to documentation and the description of the #3 actual pace car driven by Jim Perkins which is described as a stock 275hp with 4-speed corvette automatic engine.

But can't find what ratio because 2.73 and 3.23 were both available for that engine.

the pace car was a striking black-over-white exterior with special multi-colored stripes and interior seat covers that featured a very special weaving process. Of those 633 pace car replicas – all featured a 4-speed automatic transmission save for one – which was built with a 6-speed manual transmission for Jim Perkins, who is not only an avid Camaro enthusiast – but served as general manager of Chevrolet Motor Division at the time – and further, drove the Camaro pace car for the race!
A total of 633 pace car replicas were produced for the public.

Although Jim spends most of his time in Charlotte, he and wife Barbara maintain a home in Paradise Valley, Arizona. That's where they keep his collection of vintage Chevys, including a very quick '57 Bel Aire sport coupe, a rare '69 Camaro RS/SS, a '55 Bel Air, a '38 street rod, and a 1993 Indy 500 Camaro pace replica with a factory-installed manual tranny -- the only one in existence.

INTERESTING.. Seems there are conflicting information.. Now which is correct..

http://www.autotraderclassics.com/ca...ar-71330.xhtml = "The pace cars were fitted with 4-speed automatic transmissions."

http://www.indypacecars.com/1993.html - "The car was basically stock, powered by a 5.7L, 275-horsepower V-8, but Chevrolet fitted the pace car with a Corvette 4-speed automatic transmission, as well as assorted safety features. The '93 pace car was driven by Chevrolet general manager Jim Perkins, who had previously driven the 1990 Beretta."

Sorry Paul, this is Thirdgen.org, not fourthgen.org. I need to maintain site policy and keep thing 3rd gen related.
