The VIN Won't Tell You If It's A Pace Car.

Wouldn't the VIN tag have Z50? The one on the core support...

Copy of 82 Festival VINS.xlsCheck this link out for starters

http://www.camaropacecars.com/1982/82Authenticity.htm

You don't have a "Festival" Pace Car. 44 down, 6316 to go!

Thanks for the other camaro link, have enquired there as well, can't believe so much enthusiasm still around, I was the youngest salesmen to sell pontiacs in the new england region, won awards but my boss, chuck haynes. I remember he was too scared to bring me to the awards celebration because I wasn't out of high school, wish I still had my 64 GTO. Before I was married to my beautiful sweet wife of 44 years, we use to take it to the sanford maine drag strip, sweet, sweet memories! Still have my stepfathers 65 cadillac calais 4 door with 65,000 miles. He was an undertaker, worked with him from 12 years old, he always bought the cheapest model and naturally always black, he always locked it up, think he was afraid I was going to take it racing!

Re: 6,360 (1982) Camaro Z28/Z50 INDY Edition

The only acknowledged way to identify a pace car, short of having the build sheet, is by the trim tag on the radiator support. If the build sheet is still with the car, it will tucked between the springs and seat cushion under the passenger seat.

All pace cars will have a "26G 16L 16U" code on the trim tag.
