Ive seen countless TBI Irocs yes. As many as ive saw in Firebird Formulas.

Not saying it couldnt be a RS someone had altered but they didnt come with posi trac but all v8 RS are TBI.

 

Even though the IROC-Z they chose was a bottom of the line, L03, beater, it still looked like the coolest car in that ridiculous comparo. Just sayin'.

There is actually a Poorly optioned(i wouldnt say low, because Low could still mean good) Iroc for sale locally to me that is a Hard top, with the 15" Z28 style wheels and TBI motor, all stock, don't know who would order one like that, but i wish i could buy the car just for the hard top body

haha, well i would agree even though both of my camaro's are '89 i do love the single stripes, my Iroc actually has the 15" double stripes on it, i get people all the time telling me they only made 16" double stripes, then i point to the tire size and wait for their reaction.


im also lucky to have had a buddy who owned an '88 TBI 15" Z28 wheel optioned IROC, they are not common at all

 

Why I have a Firebird. All they say is cool.

Had a base Camaro, everyone and their sister wants to tell you what it is or isn't and 90% of them don't enve know what their saying but they all insist on telling you anyways.


course its only cause no one knows that a T/A is an upgraded Firebird.
There is no such thing as a base Firebird to the general public, their all cool and the T/A stand alone.

But a base Camaro is like having a Yugo, oh thats not a RS, Iroc, Z28 its just a Camaro.

 

Good point gumby. Since my TAs are debadged as well, most people don't even know what kind of car it is. But they all think it looks badass.

Ok. Again, I need to jump in on these posts to clear things up. The TBI engine is still fuel injected, so it was correctly stated. Also, the 15" Z28 rims were the standard rim available on the IROC-Z in 1988. By 1989, they had the 15" IROC-Z wheel. That car is probably an IROC-Z, but it was a base model. The fact that it had the L03 and 15" wheels tells me that the car didn't have much else. I was wondering if the show installed the posi for the show only. The car probably didn't come with it.
