84 Z28 HO QUESTION

Hi
I know this is a tough question but im new to these cars. Im looking for a ballpark number.
What would a 84 Z28 Auto, no ttops, 80K, unmolested original condition, sell for these days. Hagerty price guide says number 4 around 6K and three 10K. I would say the car is 3+ car. Hagerty uses a 1-4 scale. I could not find any original 84 HO cars for sale or recently sold to compare.
What's your opinion?? No pictures yet. Going to see the car today. Anything I should look for?
Thanks
Please email me directly since I will be driving today.

Re: 84 Z28 HO QUESTION

Here's a beautiful example for when you get pictures. You can compare. It's a 5 speed though.

Re: 84 Z28 HO QUESTION

I did see that one but like you said it is a 5 speed with very low mileage. The one I'm looking at has original paint a couple of small dings and the red lower valence decal is dried up and peeling off a little. Underside is very clean no rust or damage. Interior is very nice. Paint looks very good for original. Could use a good polishing. Engine untouched. Has the disc brakes in rear. Have not been able to get inside or here it run yet. It's not as nice as that car but it is solid and all there. Any thoughts about what a fair number would be??
Thanks

Re: 84 Z28 HO QUESTION

It's hard to say without seeing some pictures, and knowing what the guy is asking (because there's good offers and good prices, but the two don't always go together).

Re: 84 Z28 HO QUESTION

Sounds like a great car. Do you have any pictures? It would make it easier for us to come up with an overall all dollar amount with some pics. That being said, a low mile 1984 Z28 with the L69 that's stock and in good shape is a very desirable thirdgen.

Very desirable 3rd gen no doubt. Would have to see the pics but just guessing 7-8k range. Maybe more to the right man that really wanted it

Re: 84 Z28 HO QUESTION

Location has a lot to do with selling price. I've seen cars that go for 5-7k here bring 9-12k up north. I just lost my 83 L69, I've been looking for a replacement, Seeing most cars like you describe going around 7500.00. Good luck and pics would help.

Re: 84 Z28 HO QUESTION

I bought my 5spd L69 84 back in 2008 for $7000 here in Canada it had 67k km on it (41k miles) I had it appraised last year in 2013 at $12,500 but I think that's too high, realistically if I sold it today I would think I can get around $9000ish, I don't think auto vs 5 spd should affect price. I think condition and options would sway price more than anything.

From your description I wouldn't pay more than $7500-8000ish if it were in Canada, your location may differ.
