odd 85 iroc z
So I was talking to a buddy of mine about my car we open the hood and he says this is a non ac car. I said ya but never thought about it he said he's never seen one in iroc trim. I also told him it had no power anything an the dash was kind of weird because it dose not have all the vents. like other iroc's I've had has a 5 speed transmission and has the l69 in it so i know it's a true iroc z. but it's kind of odd that a car with the iroc z option. Has no other options. With it except T tops. are there others out there like this or is it one of a few ever made.

Re: odd 85 iroc z
I know of one '86 IROC in San Benito County (CA) that was ordered without power windows, power door locks, AC, no rear defog, no cruise. It did have an AM radio and IIRC, it was a t-top car.
The original owner installed close to all the SLP stuff that was in the catalog at the time. He even ordered the SLP heads and had to swap in a 350 short block when he discovered the SLP heads wouldn't work with the small cylinder bores of a 305.
The car has changed hands a few times since. Last time I saw the car was a few years ago in my doctor's office parking lot. It looked thrashed. It still had the SLP cat back system on it.

Re: odd 85 iroc z
I'm kinda at a stand still I wanted to put in a 383 but being as odd as it is would I be better off keeping it original the cars in good shape for the most part got it off the original owner
Re: odd 85 iroc z
I'm fairly certain that it's not a special car and that it's just a lightly optioned car. Cars that have future value usually have a multitude of options or is a rare special edition type car. The original buyer might have wanted to make a race car and never did. I would do whatever you planned on doing with the car. It won't change it's value in any way.

Rare does not always mean Valuable
I do not foresee any day where Any comparible I4 will be sold for more than any V8 car.
