HELP Please.

I have just entered a debate where a gentlemen tells me that GTA/350 TPI cars did not come with T-Tops except for the 1989 model year only. I know I have seen 350 cars in 87and 88 not sure about 90. I know the 91/92 t-top didn't exist for GTA/350s but need some help for 87 and 88. Is this guy legit or is he just trying to rattle my cage??

Where can I find Prouduction numbers for GTA/350/T-Top cars from 87 to 90. I know for a fact I have seen the 88 GTA Knotchbacks in t-top. Don't ya just love debates.

Re: HELP Please.

GM didn't keep track of options on top of options.

1989* was the only year the GTA and Trans Am could have the factory T-Tops and factory 350 combination. This comes with the fine print that the Canadian market could have the factory T-Tops and factory 350 combination on the GTA and Trans Am in 1987 but it was not allowed without the Z49 Canadian export code.

Yes, 1988 GTA Notchbacks did have the optional T-Tops just as the GTA and Trans Am did. However, they did not come with the factory T-Top and factory 350 combination.

C&C T-Tops was an aftermarket option to install T-Tops in cars that did not come with factory T-Tops.

Too many times people will mistake a 305 and a 350, have someone who installed a 350 when the engine was a factory 305, and/or mistake aftermarket T-Tops by C&C that aren't factory T-Tops.

Re: HELP Please.

I know of local a car or two that have been converted to T-tops as well, so even if they are factory does not mean it came that way. Have to look at the SPID (which can be faked) or a dealer invoice.
