Decals & Stripes

Guys,

I've been looking at a car to pick up for my son to drive for the summer and have come across a white 87 IROC with recent paint that does not have stripes, emblems or decals on it yet.

Any thoughts/opinions on using a different year stripe kit, like the 88-90 Black/Brilliant Blue one rather than the 85-87 Silver/Black one it would have come with? Door decals would still be the silver ones it originally came with so not a huge deal. I just think the blue or red stripes look better on the white cars than the silver ones did.

I'd probably keep the IROC-Z decal forward on the door in the stock location too, although I generally prefer the rear position better.

Thoughts?

Re: Decals & Stripes

A color that I have seen on 1988, 1989, 1990 IROCs is the silver and light yellow stripe. Till I actually saw it on a white Camaro I thought it wouldn't look very good. I think it looks really good on white and not many of them got that stripe combination. It seems like the '88 or '89 Camaro brochure had one on the cover back then.
