Auctions 1988 GTA and 2 TTA's

I was just flipping channels and saw Auction Kings where they sold a 1988 Black GTA 5.7L for $6500.

Also if you are looking for a TTA Mecum Harrisburg has two up for grabs.

First one looks nice but no mileage given.

The second one, Both on Thursday, has 10K for mileage and really looks sweet!

Though only 4 3rd Gens so far, all seem of high quality and or collectibility.

Besides the Sport Coupe

There is this under 7K 1986 IROC Z as well.

All the 3rd Gens are to be sold on Thursday next week.

Odd, the '87 Sport Coupe with such low mileage, has the '86 hatch. I've seen '87s with the high mount light, but none of them had the spoiler.

1 of 3 options
1) The hatch has been replaced
2) The spoiler was added
3) By some off crazy chance it was an early 1987 and it received leftover pieces from 1986...

I cannot decide if it is 1 or 2

Well the Mecum Auction is on again.

The first 3rd Gen sold is a 1988 GTA Custom 355 Auto and did not sell for 6K

The rest of the results are...

1986 IROC Z 5L Auto 7K Miles

1987 Camaro 5L Auto 20K Miles sold for 6K.

1989 IROC Z 5.7L Manual Red on Red. No Picture got to $7250 but did not sell.

The 2nd TTA got to 22K but did not sell.

i am sure someone out there likes what someone has done to this car, but honestly it does not look good at all. It looks like a Teenager threw ideas at it to make it look "cool" Im not sure if I would have paid $6500 for it. Also it was not a GTA, it is a Trans Am with the fender vents.

Cars that are greatly modified rarely do well at these auctions. Or CL, or Ebay etc etc. Certain upgrades can help the price, but when it changes the entire look of a car, it rarely does.

I agree,
The car in question just looks like someone wanted it to look like a dragster, but really not put the work into it to make it real. The tall "slicks" might turn a head, and cause a giggle, but seriously I think they are hideous, unless you tub it and take it to the track.
