$65,000 is a pipe dream.

It's amazing history. Problem is whoever purchases the vehicle will lose the fact that the vehicle is MSO and never titled. Kind of kills the nostalgia of the vehicle. At least in my opinion as I work in the dealership industry.

MSO (Manufactures Statement Origin). Which means it has never been titled. Back in 89 you could buy a car new (paid in full) and tell GM you were going do the title footwork your self. So if your car stayed off the roads you did not need registration.

 

I would think that's a good thing, that's proof the cars never been on the road.

Yes, as soon as the new buyer registers it, a title will be issued, and that's the end of the MSO. Parts if it's current "charm" is that it's never been titled.

 

Do cars like this trade on Craigslist? I thought cars like this would be known by some folks, who know some other folks and the deal is done without a lot of attention.

 

This car was listed for auction at Mecum KC this year, but was pulled before the sale.

 

It's been on eBay for quite some time too. I think that running it on ebay, CL & getting guys like us talking about the car is the part of a well planned future auction. Get as much exposure as possible so the right people are aware of the car, then run it at auction.
I Don't think the seller expects somebody to buy it at that price. Just Fishin is my guess.....

Could have been a dealers demo car too. With 10-15 sales guys getting the perk of driving a demo car by just slapping on a dealer plate, ALLOT of new cars rack up 200 miles before ever being sold.
