Hi Dagwood
Just curious why 1986 is "everyones least favorite year"?
I know one thing might be the high mount stoplight,as I just bought an 86 Iroc last fall,I have noticed this trend
Maybe I haven't read enough posts yet lol

looking back at barrett jackson for the last 2 years and seen there where 2 91-92 1le's that sold for less than the 2 that sold yesterday so i would say the later z28's are doing pretty good .. the black 1le had 88 miles and sold for like 35k and the red 1le with 400 miles sold for like 33k .. i think there going to be the third gen to have in the near future .. especially red ..
That is why I never wanted a 1LE .............but I'm sure there is a certain amount that it does not matter

These were both Heritage Edition Z28's with EXTREMELY low miles. Examples of those with almost no miles, and brand new condition have to be extremely scarce. So, I dont know if I would use "later models" bringing the big $$. No other later models have really been doing anything out of the ordinary. These two definitely surprised me, though!

The high mounted third brake light, and 1986 also has a different cam in the TPI 305, making only 190hp. It was higher hp in 85, they dropped hp in 86, then in 87 they upped the hp again. Slang for the 86 cam is the "peanut cam"

there nothing wrong with the 86 iroc .. it does have the small cam but lets face it , knobody is buying a 305 auto iroc for its amazing horsepower .. there fun cars to drive and have the same value as all the other 305 auto irocs ..

That "not wanted" thing mostly exists on forums, like the vette guys saying a 64 is bad. Whatever!
BJ...never know. Right guy right time, enough drinks in him. Hard to base real life pricing on auctions.
Have my eye on a friends yellow 86 will be under 5k very sharp and mechanically new. Decent brown 84? on Cl palm springs right now reasonable $.
The old st rods, musclecars are slowly bringing less, 80s/90s stuff is getting more. Buying pool on old stuff seems to be shrinking as the old guys sell them off.

It did look clean...
That is really good money for a 100k mile repaint 305 Auto!
