I’m trying to find info about the accessory braces for the 89 model year tpi engines. There are a total of 5 accessory drive braces for tpi engines. Ac compressor brace, 2 alternator braces, power steering pump brace, and air pump/smog pump brace. Depending on year, the engine could have all 5 or less. The ac compressor to exhaust manifold brace and the alternator to exhaust manifold brace is on all 88 to 92 tpi to my knowledge. I think 88 tpi’s had all 5 braces. I’m trying to find out what braces were on 89 tpi motors from the factory. Did it get all 5 or just a couple or few. If you have an 89 tpi car, I’d like to know which braces are on your engine. I have an 89 Iroc vert with the lb9 and auto... I only see the ac compressor and one alternator bracket....same ones on my 92 z with an lb9 manual.... Never seen those other brackets...

Thanks for the reply. That’s what I’ve been finding out for the 89 tpi motors. Had a few people on Facebook post pics and it’s the same what you said. I’ve seen the alternator to intake manifold brace and power steering pump brace on 88’s but haven’t seen the air pump brace on anything yet. Guess the GM engineers decided that those braces weren’t needed anymore on the 89 tpi motors.
