82 - 84 Firebird, what switch went here

I saw this piece the other day, it looks like it is the dash trim for the drivers side, where the fog light switch would be on the 85+ cars.

https://www.hawksmotorsports.com/fir...sh-panel-trim/

Anyone know what switch that would have been on the early cars?

That hole is for a rear wiper switch on the early firebirds

I thought the rear wiper switch went on the other side to the left of the defrost switch.

The switch to the left of the defrost was the optional subwoofer control

Re: 82 - 84 Firebird, what switch went here

Rear defrost, rear wipers, & hatch release switches are all on the right side of steering wheel on my 82. The left side is solid but looks like a switch could be mounted behind the panel. So I'm curious as what switch would be on the left side of steering wheel too?

Thats kind of cool I never knew they had a subwoofer switch. Does that just turn on the factory subs in the sail panels? That would be cool to turn on an aftermarket amp/sub.

I’m actually not sure how it works. This is the first car I’ve seen it in but the factory wiring has spade connectors all over the place from a previous owner. I’m willing to bet it doesn’t work anymore.

I'm guessing that the one on the left was only used if you had all four options, otherwise either the sub switch or the rear washer was in the third slot on the right side.

Thank you for the pictures.

Whats the best way to get the white lettering on the buttons. One of mine are wore off and was thinking of painting the letters on but maybe theres a better way than freehanding it?
