The decals on my 86 measure 5.3/4 BUT mine don't have periods after the F & I
I know the decals that say 5.0 Liter H.O. have the periods and they measure 6.5/8"
Thanks Mantaguy. I will be putting 5.7 Liter FI badges on it next week or so as the new engine is soon to go in. I ordered the solid lettering but I needed the ones with the outlined lettering as shown up topto match the other badges. 87-92 had the outlined and I believe they are 6 5/8.
the area of the decal that's outside the actual lettering is 1/16th bordering the whole thing. I wish I wouldn't have forgotten my better ruler and caliper at work, I would have had more accurate information tonight. I'll put it on my list for things to check tomorrow.

Not sure if you know but there was no 5.7 Liter badge on the Trans Ams so the correctness of the badge starts to go at that point. You won't find it in the parts and illustration manual. For whatever reason the 5.7L was not advertised if equipped on the Trans Am like the 5.0L was. Some people do as you and add the badge.

I don't care about the correctness i just want it. I want it to match my other outlined badge and I don't care because my car isn't any where near original but rather to my own taste. Mismatch bunch of parts and such but I like it. I am also going to leave the periods off the FI because I prefer that also. Thanks for the heads up though bro..
