History / OriginalityGot a question about 1982-1992 Camaro or Firebird history? Have a question about original parts, options, RPO codes, when something was available, or how to document your car? Those questions, answers, and much more!
I was taking the door panel off in my 92 Camaro RS to replace weather stripping and I found what I thing is a build order or options sheet. Top right corner has "Schedule/Job" with a number. Is this something else than the options sticker found in the trunk area?
Not sure what the formal name for that paper is. It's not the build sheet, but it obviously references some of the build features. Mine is under the carpet in the rear cargo well, but it's partially glued to the sheet metal by the factory's dollop of adhesive that was placed to hold down the carpet. It looks good, but at nearly 40 years old, it's probably too fragile to try to remove, so I decided to leave it there. Trying to remove it would probably be like unwrapping a mummy, and it would crumble if disturbed.

Re: Question about a build sheet found in the car
That is a build sheet, but not "The Build Sheet" If that makes sense. Normally they are partial, and not complete for the entire car. They are still a great find.
I don't refer to as the build sheet, since it's not "the build sheet" as John notes, but a trim sheet.
The number on the sheet should match the number on the metal plate in front of the radiator. It would also be on the master build sheet. It's not on the SPID label.

And verify the numbers match. It was common to find build sheets under the seats/carpet on 2nd Gen F-body cars, but also not rare to discover one of the guys on the line just dropped the sheet he had in his hand from another car into the car you now have. I guess his pockets finally got full of wadded up paper! VINs on the build sheets verified that then.

My build sheet is 1/3rd behind the evaporator core opening on my GTA. I noticed it when I took off the evaporator core box assembly from the engine compartment. I still haven’t removed it yet in fear of ripping it in half. I guess I’ll have to take apart the dash to get at it from the inside. Ugh!

A lot of the time the build sheets behind the dash are partials, they typically only deal with the parts that were to be included with the dash. BUT they are still a cool find, and there is a possibility that it is the full Build-sheet.
Trim sheet, a mini build sheet if you wil
there are several of those in different areas.
That's what I call it, a trim sheet, but mini build sheet is too generous. The trims sheet contains so much less than the master build sheet. Doesn't have all the RPO codes, only a few, no dealership selling information.
