Rpo codes missing

Hey gang, new here. Just got my first 3rd gen today. Been wanting one forever. Anyways, this cars RPO codes are unfortunately nowhere to be found. I have looked through this forum and then back at the car at every known location and cannot find them anywhere. The car has RS badges on the outside, and by the vin I see that it originally came with a 305. It has been swapped to a 350 somewhere down the line. It's a 1989. I have read that you can't really use the VIN to see what trim it is, however when i use this site https://chevroletforum.com/forum/vin...FP21E0KL176469 it shows up as an IROC Z28. That cant be accurate right? Anyways glad to be here and hope to be around for a long time.

Re: Rpo codes missing

You can create an account (they don’t spam you) on https://en.17vin.com and possibly get the RPO codes but 89 is sketchy for US delivery card. A dealership might have better luck. Otherwise finding the build sheet under the back seat or carpet is your only chance.

Re: Rpo codes missing

Unfortunately your VIN is not in Compnine's database so I suspect it's no where besides GM Heritage Archives. As stated, 1989 and older is sort of a cutoff year, unless an Export, to having free access to the RPOs.

Your other option is to order a copy of the invoice from GM Heritage Archives

Can you post a screenshot or copy/paste of the RPO codes from 17vin?

Re: Rpo codes missing

That site doesn't appear to have the RPO list either. It's showing generic VIN info.

BTW the OP's VIN is at the end of the URL string in their first post if you want to check it yourself.

Yeah it doesn’t give me the option to see them. I’ll try that heritage site people are talking about.
