Did 3rd Gens Ever have these from the Factory???

Someone posted on the exhaust board that they might be getting a good deal on some factory replacement headers. Said, his friend is selling him some headers that came stock on his 89 Camaro. Also he said he saw some aluminum heads that were stock on a '89 TA. I just wanted to see if this was possible, which I highly doubt.

headers did not come from the factory on a thirdgen, nor did aluminum heads. all the L98 and LB9 engines received the cast iron tuned port heads.

The headers were optional equipment? cool. would it being an SLP option be considered as being factory equipment? i'm just wondering.

I wouldn't consider it "factory" because they were not installed by the factory, they were installed by dealers of by customers.....
