I am trying to find out if i have a 305 or a 350 engine in my car 87 z28. the vin # says 305 tpi but i think its a 350 tpi because its not the original motor and of the timings... how can i find out for sure what it is? Where would the #s be on the engine?

 

yes you can tell by the #s on the engine block

if its the original motor, it will only be a 305

1982-1987 Z28's did not come with 350's

1987+ IROC'S and 1991-1992 Z28's did come with 350's
