Got a request... 87 TPI owners inside...
Once again I'm working on the Iroc. 87 Iroc, 5.7L TPI, low miles, goobered by previous owners. Someone had either the top end of the engine out, or the entire engine out at one point or another, and nothing is routed correctly. I'm trying to get it back to OEM, which means I need to reroute all kinds of wiring harnesses, heater lines, emissions line, etc and replace worm gear clamps with pinch clamps, etc.
So what I need are some super accurate clear pictures of stock 87 TPI engine bays. Specifically the driver and passengers sides, since I've got to reposition everything up from the valve covers. I also could use some pictures of a factory cruise control mounting so I can get the aftermarket cruise out of the way.
If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it.

Drew, if you can wait till the beginning of April, I can get you any picture you want. My car is in storage and I need to get it out by early April to prepare it for World of Wheels. Let me know if you're willing to wait.

Thats not a problem, I can hold out till then. I'm gonna go ahead and tear it down and build it back up a little more logically... chances are it'll be pretty close when I'm done. If nothing else at least the valve covers won't be covered in grime anymore.

As long as I'm doing this, I suppose I should give a few tidbits of info here and there... Sort of documenting my mild restoration while I go thru it.
This post represents something I do quite a bit... I go ahead and use parts that most people would consider modifications but I do my best to conceal it. In this case, we have an Accel distributor cap, that I magically turned into a AC Delco cap with my Rustoleum magic wand.
Enjoy. This kinda thing is especially fun for that occasional race situation where you don't want to give away all your tricks. It also keeps the car presentable so if you decide to show it they don't count your aftermarket distributor cap as one of your four exceptions.

It was on the car when we bought it. Probably came from JCWhitney or someplace similar. If I were to add cruise to a car that didn't have one stock, I'd rob the complete setup out of a junkyard car. You'd need the module, the cable, the wiring, and the turn signal stalk...

It's a little dirty in that first one. That was just before the new long block went in, I am pretty sure I re-routed all of the harnesses the same way as before:

You might call me really starnge, but when I did my swap from my 4bbl to TPI i actually found another car to use as a map, made life so worth while. Unfortunately now that i have the car I cant seem to get the gumption to get rid of it...
hmm...
this is where you ask, why did you just drive the already made TPI car instead of doing the swap... cause I sometimes like to know how to do something and I will figure it out...
I would have posted some pix, BUUUUTTTT, I have a firebird, and as all of us might know the TPI systems are similar but not the same...
