OK....... now I gotta' keep up with you on two posts........LOL
The W69 means "Special Edition" or SE ...... that's it.
The SE model was a "middle model".
It had the WS6 suspension of the Trans Am but the looks of the Firebird. No T-Tops, no ground effects, no TPI....... but I believe any and every other option was available if desired.
I am not sure but I THINK they had special colors for the SE's like that Cream Yellow....

The existence of it was to offer an "extra" model to lure those potential buyers. If it were another car it might be a DX, LX, or EX but GM chose Firebird, SE, TransAm as well as other models.
Same as Camaro, Berlinetta, RS, IROC, Z28. They use the same base model and squeeze 4 or 5 choices for it.
Maybe someday it will be rare and collectible but I don't think they really are at this point.
82........ I have a question. I always thought the 85 SE I had sported the WS6 suspension but I do remember it didn't have rear disc. Do all WS6 Kits have rear disc?
