first of all, w69 is the special edition rpo for firebirds right? and second of all was there a different rpo than ws6 for the performance suspension in earlier thirdgens?

WS7 was Special Handling Package. Basically WS6 without the 4-wheel disc brakes.
Couple questions for you 82RECAROTA:

I just bought a 1984 Firebird S/E...I looked up all the RPO codes on Thirdgen...some came up missing.....
the first you answered for me was the W69...what is the description of W69? Was it a suspension deal or what?

Here are a few more that I pulled off of my sheet that I don't know what they are....
E6E
N0D
WS8
YT9

I have data on all the others....
Here is the complete list of you want to look at it..

w69 is just the rpo for special edition, the special edition bird came with the suspension that was standard on the trans am and was i think optional with ws6, thats my help, also atleast in 83, the s/e had a few more standard features like rear wiper and was available with every option you could get on the t/a except for the crossfire motor.

S/E's are cool. From 82-84 they were the rarest type of firebird. In 83-84 they only made about 10,000 of them.

Did you notice the error that the P & I Catalog has listed? The LC8 231 V6 was never in a third gen F-Body.
I am not sure what the LC8 was but I am sure they had 2 - 2.8's, a regular 2.8 and a 2.8 H.O. That's what it says in my '84 brochure anyway.

1985 - 5,208

I know but I kinda thought we were discussing the 82-84 bodystyles. But that is correct. Still low for all years of production except 82.

Even with the higher '82, you sure don't see too many of them in any condition. That 18+k mileage S/E that was on eBay not long ago was the second one I had seen in a long time, not including my own '83. Hope he keeps it in its original unmodded condition.
Don't worry about the '82 S/E. I will keep it in good shape. Believe it or not I bought that car. My ebay user id id rmccombe. The seller has all the original documentation, and says it has been in the garage all the time, never parked outside!
I guess I will have to update my sig.

I'd love to see a close-up on the transition stripes on that thing.
Should be something like light grey > medium grey > dark grey .. 3 stripes total.
