84 or 85 SE
got a chance to trade a vehicle i have out here that i probably wont ever use or drive, for an 84 or 85 firebird SE, but its a 2.8L 5 speed car, 3.73 rear, buttermilk colored almost light yellow. Anything special about the SE's that would warrant me jumping on trading for it ? all i would do is swap out the 2.8 for a 350, but damn thats alot of work.... especially in a stick car.,.. nice tight door hinges, are perfect, nice interior... normal rust on front hood and rear wheel arches..
what would you all do ? around here the car would probably sell for 500-750 as it sits with 2.8L knocking.. comes with supposedly good extra 2.8L engine

thats what im thinking too, even though i hate to, mostly due to most all of these cars around here usually being wrecked or rusted out or both. hard to find anything in good looking condition, peoople are dman good at abusing vehicles, then the road salt and winters issue,.. hmmmm.
anyoen else got any comments or anything ?
thanks guys

Car: 86 T/A
Engine: 5.0 TPI
Transmission: 700R4
The Firebird SE is actually a pretty cool car. The 85 I had .... had the V8 LG4 engine. They actually handle better than the Trans Ams of the same era.
The reason they ARE a trans am without the T-Tops. They have the same Ws6 suspension but the solid roof gives them a more solid feel without as much body flex.
I am not sure on the exact model you are asking but I would verify the suspension. That's about the most valuable aspect of the car.

the car is now a donor car, hate ot do it to it,. but its donor for the Z28 now, if anyone is looking for good dash pad or nice tan/buttermilk colored door panels seats etc then here they are for cheap.. also a perfect pass side door sine im keepping driver side one for the Z28 since its got no dings and has tight hinges
