Specs on an '89 Formula 350...

The local Chevy/VW dealer took in on trade my friend's old '89 Formula 350 almost a year ago...I was driving by the other day and saw it wass still there, parked out back in their wholesale row! The car still seems to be in good shape...needs a paint job bad, as the clearcoat is peeling all over. But the interior is absolutely mint, is fully loaded, and has only 71k on it (my friend bought it in '98 with only 45k from the original owner...)

I have a Firebird Red Book, but there are so many inaccuracies in it, I wanted to ask here, how many '89 Formulas were made? Also, does anyone have any road test specs on an '89 Formula? The only Formula tests I have are 305/5 speeds...

I was told my another person that the dealer is looking to get $2,500 as is for it...sounds like a good price for a Formula that only needs paint to be perfect, eh??

Pontiac numbers are so sketchy the best anyone could give you is a guesstimate. There were enough built that i wouldn't consider it rare, but if all it needs is paint, then its in the minority as most thirdgens need dents removed, interior work, exhaust, tires, paint, etc... For a MAF car it'd be pretty good... by 89 GM had figured out a lot of things they didn't know in 85...

Thanks for the tips Drew...been away from the computer for awhile

Anyways, does anyone have a good feel for what these cars pull in a 1/4 mile stock?? I stopped to look at the car again last night...other than paint and clearcoat on the wheels, the car seems to be flawless. Supposedly the dealer spent some money on it fixing it...the previous owner verified for me the MAF and TPS were messed up. They won't budge from $2,500, but the car has apparently been in their possession for some time...maybe they'll crack Not that $2,500 is a bad deal anyways!!

So does anyone have stock road test figures? Also, I can now assume PHS is the only real place to find out about production #s, seeing as how the Red Book is so bad?? Does PHS even keep production #s handy??

BTW, if the Red Book is so far off, does anyone know WHERE he got his #s from??

PHS's numbers are just a print out for 67-present, and they dont list the source... to me they don't mean much.

As for performance, mid 14's in the quarter. Pretty much the same as a 90, but a tad slower.
