The plug wire loom on the throttle cable/cruise cable
Ok, whats up with the spark plug loom on the throttle cable and cruise control cable on TPI cars? All TPI cars have the long stud on the middle plenum/runner bolt, but not all have the spark plug loom there. On my formula the cables aren't close enough to the stud that a plug wire loom would ever hold them to the stud, not to mention they work fine without the loom... so whats the deal?

Mine has it and the two cables to the throttle body run threw it. The same is true for the 85 Z-28 i had.

Drew, I hit NAPA the other day and found a really nice replacement for the oversized factory piece. It holds two wires, snaps tight and is smaller than the original piece. It's in NAPA on the spinning tree that holds all the various replacement crap, like door handles, vacuum lines etc. I'll try and post the piece number tomorrow.

I've got one on the Iroc, but its barely capable of the job... I might put one on the formula eventually but I don't think the cables have enough flexibility in them to get them down to the keeper.

The one I bought is NAPA part # 735-3592, Spark Plug Wire Retainer. After looking at the stock one that came on my 92Z28, thats all it is, is a plug wire retainer! Those tricky guys at GM
